This Privacy Policy explains how The Scales Lab ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit thescaleslab.com (the "Site") or use our services, including our Amplify Instagram growth service.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us directly:
- Contact forms — your name, email address and message when you get in touch or book a call.
- Newsletter and guide downloads — your email address when you subscribe or download a free guide.
- Onboarding — business details, target audience information and Instagram account details you provide when starting our Amplify service, including account login credentials needed to deliver the service.
Information collected automatically: when you browse the Site, our analytics and advertising tools collect device and usage data such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and how you arrived at the Site (see "Cookies and tracking" below).
2. How we use your information
- To respond to enquiries and provide the services you've requested.
- To operate and grow your Instagram account as part of the Amplify service.
- To send newsletters, guides and marketing emails you've opted into — you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To measure how the Site is used and improve our content and advertising.
3. Cookies and tracking
The Site uses the following third-party tools, which set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser:
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymous usage statistics (pages viewed, traffic sources, device type). See Google's privacy policy.
- Meta Pixel — measures the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and may be used to show you relevant ads. See Meta's privacy policy.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag — measures the effectiveness of our advertising on LinkedIn. See LinkedIn's privacy policy.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and opt out of personalised advertising via Your Online Choices or the settings within each platform.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers we use to run the business — such as our website host, email tools and workflow automation (e.g. Zapier), which receive form submissions to route them to us.
- Analytics and advertising platforms listed above, in the form of usage and conversion data.
- Authorities, where we are required to by law.
5. How we protect your information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including limiting access to account credentials to the team members who deliver your service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above — for clients, the duration of the engagement plus any period required for legal and accounting purposes. When you end an Amplify engagement, we remove your account access details from our systems on request.
7. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct or update that information.
- Delete your information, where we have no legal need to keep it.
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails (every email includes an unsubscribe link).
8. Third-party links
The Site links to external websites and platforms (including Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites — review their policies separately.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version, and significant changes will be reflected on this page.
